Hey there! So, this Sunday, the (20th) we bottled the red wine from the 2017 varietals, and they're technically a "reserva" which is when they are kept in oak longer than usual, but, we bottled a mix of a few wines, and a few by themselves. We bottled:

Hey! So, yesterday, we filtered wine, and it's official... We bottle in a week! We expect to do Scisciano again, since that was a smash hit! We'll also try Chianti, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franchi (Which is a rose), and a few others. Stay tuned, especially next week, for more!
Oh my goodness, this weekend was SO great! We harvested the Muscat, Cabernet Franc, and the Traminette, and put the juice and grapa in carboys and 20 gallon silicon buckets! Here is a step-by-step picture process!
Hi y'all and welcome to today's post! So today, we went to the property where our 3 year old (or older) grapes are, and guess what??? We brought 2 different kinds of grapes home (one Cabernet Franc and 3 Muscat), and we used the refractometer to test the grapes' brix (sugar) levels. I wonder what they are! Here are the stats:
Hi ya'll! The grapes that are going to be the 2018 wine vintages are ALMOST ready for harvest! Some of the grapes that are about to be harvested are: Golden Muscat, Escuela Muscat, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Traminette! It is so cool to watch the grapes progress from the size of a stray green pencil dot to a full fledged purple, red, or yellow grape! But, as the brix (sugar level) increases, so does the risk of bird and ant attacks! To stay natural, we use ant traps with a natural attractant, sap with sugar in it, I think, and a bird call that sounds like different bird breeds cawing in distress. These methods reduce the risk greatly! Currently, as they ripen, we need to protect them, like installing the bird call, putting nets on the vines to protect them, and downsizing on the stems. Thanks for reading!
Hi! I bet seeing the 2016 vintages at the home page made you think about what the 2017 wine list is going to be! No? Hmm, I guess I can't read minds. Anyway, If you don't want to see a spoiler for the Monaciello Cellars website, do NOT, I repeat NOT, look past this thick, maroon line that says "SPOILER ALERT!!!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!!" Hi! I'm Saige, and I enjoy Marvel and DC movies, family comedy and action movies, books, and I love writing! and my father Giuseppe is an award-winning winemaker. He grows our grapes, as well as purchases them from other local vineyards. Although I'm not old enough to drink, I enjoy assisting my dad with his wine, from planting the vine, to bottling the wine! I will hopefully be able to share with y'all our day-to-day story. Thank you so much! Archives
